Get Rid of Stinkin' Thinkin'

Sometimes we allow the wrong ways of thinking to get into our minds. Understand that the way you think will determine the course of your life. It will determine whether you’re going to succeed to fail.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV) – “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

But how do we make our thoughts obedient to Christ? How can we win the battle in the mind and get rid of this stinkin’ thinkin’? Well, Pastor Kendall Bridges has given an excellent message to combat our negativity, and here’s how to do it-

Backbone to Bravery

There is something very special about being in the house of the Lord.

Psalm 84:4 (ESV) – “Blessed are those who dwell in [His] house…”

Dwelling and being consistent in the house of the Lord is important for learning and growing. Many of us like to change with the current times; we ‘hop’ from one source to another rather than be consistent. We must develop a healthier backbone. Thus, Pastor Kyle Embry presents a message that will explain consistency, honor, and other elements to help develop a backbone to bravery.

One

Think about one person that you have some type of contact with that needs to know Jesus Christ. And ask the Lord to put that person as a burden on your heart. Even though our lives have been suppressed by the challenges of living, when was the last time we experienced a tearful plea for somebody that doesn’t know Jesus Christ?

Our days are filled with so much wanting. But if we stayed up at night and prayed for one more soul, may we find that lost soul. And so, in this message, let Pastor Kendall Bridges share a few reasons for why we should care about the souls of the lost.

Matthew 16:26 (NIV) – “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”

The Enemy Within

There is an enemy within us called the Flesh, and we are constantly battling with ourselves with negative self-talk.

Romans 7:18 (NIV) – “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.”

Surely, we all have felt this way at some time or another, nevertheless…

Romans 7:25 (NIV) – “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!...”

And so, let Pastor Kendall Bridges bring this word to show you what we ought to do in Jesus’ name, because the consequences of negative self-talk are much more troublesome than you might think. We must know how to defeat the enemy within.

Sacred

There are many stories in the Bible like Uzzah's 'harmless' interaction with the Ark and we think God unfairly handled the situation. In regards to events like this, Pastor Kendall Bridges has shared a message called "Sacred" because there are certain things that God considers to be Sacred.

The Countdown

Life is a game with a clock, however you have no idea how much is left on the clock. And procrastination has become a primary enemy that we must learn to defeat. Hebrews 9:27 (NIV) says "Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment..." But why has procrastination become a bad thing? Pastor Kendall Bridges has shared an amazing word that he has called "The Countdown", for "A man’s days are numbered. You know the number of his months. He cannot live longer than the time You have set." Job 14:5 (NLT), so pay close attention as he talks about the two biggest problems with procrastination and what you should do to become triumphant so that you can become a fully devoted follower of Christ.
